The Jell Slack bot will prompt everyone on your team on Slack to fill out their standup and walk through each question directly from Slack.
To enable the bot, go Settings > Integrations > Slack > Edit Settings in Jell and select the Slack channel for each team:
You may be prompted for additional Slack permissions if the bot was not previously installed.
Once it's installed, you should see the Jell bot online in your Slack app:
And you'll be prompted the next day according to your notification schedule. Jell's Slack bot will send each user a DM with a link to submit their standup via the web-app, and give the user the option to submit their standup interactively without ever leaving Slack.
Users can also tell the bot to "start" to submit their standup/check-in at any time, even before they receive the DM.
Adding Slack bot and connecting user Slack accounts
- Jell > Settings > Integrations > Slack - Only organization admins have access to these settings. This is to connect your Jell account to Slack, so you can assign Slack channels to the different teams.
- Jell > Settings > Account > Slack (Link your Slack account) - This is for non-admin users to allow them to use the Slack integration. The best way would be to add Jell's Slack bot via Apps in Slack. Install the "Standups by Jell" bot and authorize the connection between Slack and Jell. Team members will then get notifications via Slack for reminders to submit their standup, when others submit, etc. They'll also be able to submit their standup directly via Slack if they want.
